Erectile dysfunction treatment in White House, TN

Two non-invasive options for ED: low-intensity shockwave therapy and the BTL Emsella chair. No surgery, no needles, and a private, judgment-free conversation to start.

ED is common, and hard to talk about

Erectile dysfunction becomes more common as men get older. It can also affect how a man feels about himself and his relationship, and many men avoid the subject because of embarrassment. That does not help you find an answer.

A conversation with us is private. The first step is a free consultation, and there is no physical exam: you fill out a health history and an ED questionnaire for our medical director to review.

Common causes of ED

  • Heart and blood vessel problems, such as high blood pressure or hardened arteries
  • Diabetes, MS, and other diseases
  • Prostate surgery or a spinal cord injury
  • Medicines for blood pressure, anxiety, depression, and cholesterol
  • Low testosterone
  • Anxiety, performance anxiety, depression, stress, and fatigue
  • Penile conditions such as Peyronie's disease (scar tissue that causes curvature)
  • A venous leak, where blood drains too quickly to keep an erection

Some causes need surgery, a change in medication, counseling, or lifestyle changes. Common treatments include pills such as Viagra, Cialis, and Stendra, vacuum pumps, penile rings, and implants. Pills can have side effects such as headaches, and some men stop responding to them. Many men can also be helped by the treatments below.

We heard about Wave It Away through a friend. We tried different medications and counseling with unfortunately no help or relief. After 2 years of marriage, coming across Wave It Away has been a miracle. Before all of the treatments were over, we saw results that changed our lives. It didn't hurt at all to do the treatments. We are still seeing the benefits and are very thankful.

Our two options

Shockwave therapy and the Emsella chair

The two treatments work in different ways, and they can be used alone or together.

Storz DuoLith SD1 shockwave device

Low-intensity shockwave therapy

We use the Storz DuoLith SD1. Research suggests low-intensity shockwaves can improve blood flow to the penis by encouraging the growth of new blood vessels, which are needed for erections.

Worried about the word “shockwave”? It is not an electric shock. Most men feel little or no discomfort, and no numbing cream is needed. Our nurse performs the treatment, and the visit takes just over 30 minutes. You can go about your day as soon as you leave.

Usually 12 treatments, with maintenance every 3 to 6 months for some men
BTL Emsella chair

The BTL Emsella chair

The Emsella chair strengthens the pelvic floor muscles, which play a part in erections and ejaculation control. You sit fully clothed for 28 minutes while it produces thousands of muscle contractions.

Because it also treats urinary incontinence, some men see improvements in bladder control at the same time.

Usually 12 treatments, twice a week for six weeks

Using both. In our experience, combining shockwave therapy with the Emsella chair tends to give better results than either one alone. Some patients who could barely get an erection with pills have told us they can perform again, and some need about half the dose they used before. Results vary.

About FDA status. Neither shockwave therapy nor the Emsella chair is FDA approved or cleared to treat erectile dysfunction, so this use is off-label. Every patient completes a health history and an ED questionnaire, and our medical director reviews them before treatment. Results vary from person to person.

Patient stories

What patients and their partners say

I just want to thank Wave It Away and its staff for helping me and my husband. They are a Godsend. My husband suffers from erectile dysfunction and we tried everything with no success. We came across Wave It Away and we had a lot of questions for the staff. They answered all of our questions and concerns and helped calm all of our fears. This helped save our marriage. With nothing working, we were so frustrated because we didn't know where to turn or what else to do. We were teetering on the verge of divorce. If we hadn't come across Wave It Away we probably would be divorced. So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!!

Thanks to the great staff at Wave It Away. I had a positive experience and results. It's a definite advantage to have these progressive techniques in White House.
